First Nations Youth in the Fraser Valley

We have also been supporting the pilot of a Beat-Making and Songwriting Workshop for First Nations youth in the Fraser Valley. The workshops start with guest performances from local Indigenous artists, including Aggasiz artists Kitche The Poet and Maximum Gane and Kamloops-born artist Yellowbunny.

Then youth participants are given the opportunity to perform some of the music that they have been working on. This workshop gives young artists in a rural region access to knowledge, equipment and opportunities that they may not be able to access otherwise.
